A short bio about Ron Price, the creator and owner/CEO of NOMAD GOLF WRX
Ron is a native of Clearwater, Florida and spent most of his early years on the water with his boating family. This family was one of the early charter boat owner/builder/operators located in the Clearwater Marina. For several years, Ron was also a salt and fresh water fishing captain/guide. His love of the water drew him to all water sports. These include long-distance surf swimming, scuba and free-diving to over 70 feet, sunfish sailboat racing, water skiing, and surfing - all of which remain his passions. For a brief time, in the 60's, Ron did some professional surfing for the Miller Team. It was also in the 60's, that Ron took up the game of golf - that was to be another passion.
From the mid 70's through the early 90's, Ron owned and operated Malibu Builders, a large central Florida construction company. Having a successful business enabled Ron to spend more time playing golf with clients and suppliers. While playing with club pros, Peter Jacobsen and Terry Rorick from Saddlebrook, Terry suggested that Ron may want to try the Florida Mini Tour. This turned into a two year quest with several first place and numerous top ten finishes. However, in the early eighties there was not much purse money and his construction company required his full time attention.
This brings us to the creation of Nomad Golf WRX. In the mid 90's while working with a club pro at Lansbrook Country Club, the pro noticed the custom work on Ron's clubs. With the recognition and commendation of that local pro, Nomad Golf WRX (NGW) was created.
"I happened to be at Air Orlando Tours when Greg Norman flew in and landed in his Augusta helicopter."
Ten large mouth bass caught at sunset on a homemade bait in less than an hour! The big one that did NOT get away was a 14.5 lb large mouth bass caught in a central Florida lake with a black fire tail plastic worm. All bass were released alive, as were thousands of others.
